Plastic

We at Ellias International are deeply conscious of the state of the environment, and realize that we all have a role to play in making our earth greener, safer and less polluted, for ourselves, and for future generations.

We are involved in the recycling of PET plastic bottles and other PET waste into recycled polyester fiber. This reduces the net amount of plastic being used, as well as the amount of non-biodegradable plastic material waste being buried in landfills.

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a form of plastic most commonly used to make plastic bottles, which we use in our everyday life. Discarded PET material becomes PET waste, which is sorted according to colour, crushed into bales, and sold for processing. The bales are shredded into small fragments, and then cleaned. These PET flakes are used as raw material to make polyester fibres, polyester sheets or more PET bottles.

We arrange for the shipment of PET waste to a company in China where it is recycled into polyester fiber.
